Everything that happens at the door. Guests are admitted by scanning the QR code from their ticket, their wallet pass, or their confirmation email — in any phone browser, with no app to install. A check-in point is a named door: the main entrance, the gala dinner, a breakout room. Each event can have as many as it needs, each with its own access rules, and each scan is recorded as a line in a log rather than a flag on the guest. That is what makes re-entry, check-out, and dwell time per stage possible at all. Where you print badges, the badge comes out of the printer as the guest is admitted, in the design you built yourself. And while all this happens, the module cockpit shows the live count — who is inside right now, how many have been through today.
Check in
On the day of the event, you can scan QR codes directly in your mobile browser . Quick Event doesn't require a native app—the check-in view works in any modern browser on smartphones or tablets. Simply open your event's check-in page and point your camera at the QR code.
A single check-in typically takes less than two seconds . After scanning, you immediately see the participant's name, the booked quota, and whether the person has already checked in. Duplicate check-ins are detected and displayed with a notification.
Multiple check-in stations can operate simultaneously. Any device with browser access can serve as a station—a dedicated tablet, a helper's smartphone, or a laptop at reception. All stations synchronize in real time : When a participant checks in at station A, station B immediately sees the updated status.
The dashboard lets you track the check-in progress live: How many participants are on site, how many are still missing? These figures are updated with each individual registration.
QR codes
Each participant receives a unique QR code upon registration. The code contains an encrypted token that is exclusively assigned to the respective participant. This virtually eliminates the possibility of sharing or forgery.
QR codes are embedded in the PDF ticket, included in the Apple Wallet pass, and also available as a separate image in the confirmation email. This ensures participants always have at least one access method—even if the PDF ticket isn't readily available, the QR code in the email or Wallet is sufficient.
During the scan, Quick Event verifies the token server-side in real time. Invalid, expired, or already used codes are immediately detected and displayed accordingly. All communication between the scanner and the server is encrypted.
Check-in points
An event rarely has one door. There is the conference entrance, the gala dinner the evening before, the opening reception, and often several breakout rooms. A check-in point is a named door with its own rules, and you can create as many as the event needs.
Each point can allow check-out as well as check-in, which is what makes room occupancy meaningful: thirteen people in breakout room one right now, fifty over the course of the day, thirty-seven of whom have left again. Re-entry does not count the same person twice.
Access can be tied to ticket categories: only holders of the gala ticket get through the gala door, and the guest is told why if they do not. Staff can still admit someone anyway — the override is a deliberate action and it is written into the log with the rest.
Badge printing on site
Where a check-in point has badge printing switched on, the badge is printed as the guest is admitted — no second step, no queue at a separate desk. The layout is yours: you place name, company, ticket category, QR code, and your own artwork on the front and, if you need it, on the back.
Walk-ins are handled the same way. Someone who was never registered can be entered at the door and receives the same badge as everyone else.
The print station is a small desktop application that runs on the laptop next to the printer, because a browser is not granted the printer access that silent, unattended printing needs. You download it in the studio and pair it once with an access code — available for Mac today, Windows to follow. Several stations can run side by side, one per check-in lane.
Live attendance
The check-in cockpit updates itself. No reload button, no refresh interval — when a scan happens at any door, the figures move.
You see the count per check-in point (inside now, and total today), the arrival curve over the day, and a live stream of the most recent scans with the name of the guest and the station that scanned them. Names can be searched in the stream, which is how you answer "has Ms Müller arrived yet?" without leaving the page.
All of it can be exported afterwards as a CSV, one line per scan, for the post-event report.
Devices and door staff
The scanner is a web page, so any phone or tablet with a camera is a scanning station. Nothing is installed, and a helper who turns up on the morning of the event is working within a minute.
Door staff join with an access code rather than a user account — practical, because the people on the door are rarely the people who built the event. They give their station a name when they start, and that name appears next to every scan they make, so you can tell the main entrance from the side door in the log.
Because the access code is the key to the door, treat it like one: it grants check-in access to anyone who has it.
